I am in constant pain in my legs, knees and general stiffness in my body. My primary care physician took exrays of my knees but didn't see anything wrong. Pain killers don't help, even prescription ones. I want to see a specialist but don't know what kind to see because I don't know what it is. It particularly hurts to stand up or sit down. I walk very stiffly. What kind of specialist should I see?

  1. sounds like u got arthritis bad aspirin extra strength see it that helps  u should take cod liver pills   it works.

  2. Sounds like Fibromyalgia to me. Should start taking some Vitamin B-12 Shots, have your Doctor do some blood work which will identify the disease if you have it. My wife has it and she takes MS Contin, Percocet and Nuerontin for hers. Once in a while she takes Soma, a muscle relaxer, which helps but makes you sleepy. I wish for you the very best sir.

  3. Could also be Fibromyalgia.

  4. AS your over 50 years of age, female?

If you are female your eostrogen levels fall putting you at risk of Osteoporosis...brittle bone.

Perhaps you could get a Bone Density Test.

  5. i would suggest a Rheumatologist. You could have the onset of oesto arthritis so try taking glucosamine. The Specialist will do blood test to rule out any more sinister auto immune diseases.
