Although I barely manage to run 4 min and then 2min, I do it over 20 minutes, its just a start. I have made a point of watching my food intake closely but still gain about 300g a week.

  1. I went from about 105 kg (231lbs) to 86 kg(189lbs) and there were a few key things i did...

first of all..running machines are pretty bad for overweight people. Hurt your knees and you will quit.. suggest stationary bike or an actual bicycle.also trekking machines are alot of fun.

Go swimming. I was tubby man but i went and swam 3 times a week and it pours off the pounds. (even 20-30min, plus you feel like a million bucks once it starts to pay off) swimming is very easy on your body and there are laot of other tubby people there usually.

No MacDonalds, No coca cola ever(well..sometimes)

finally..   A good bmi scale and a chart.

First thing in the morning.  measure your weight and body fat and plot it on a chart so you can see it.. suggest having it in the hallway.

A did this for about 1 year and shed almost 20kg (50lbs)

also...if you have a husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend get them in on it too...

    cheers...good luck....

  2. muscle weighs more then fat.. but it shouldn't be a problem untill your in shape i think.. but try to push yourself that extra step more then you think you can.. it will prob go up a bit but then start to shed pounds

  3. Well, due to the fact that you are exercising your leg muscles you are more than likely adding muscle tissue!

Muscle tissue weighs -MORE- than fat!

  4. Muscle really does weigh more than fat. It also takes up less space. So you might be wearing a smaller size, but you may actually weigh more.

  5. Its not "fat weight" its actually "muscle weight".

  6. eat less?

  7. The reason you are gaining weight is because although you are running a short distance you r still gaining additional muscle in your legs. It is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Muscle weighs more than fat.

  8. hmm....I would go to your doctor for a checkup. Try eating smaller portions of healthy food and drink lots of water.

  9. perhaps you are still gaining weight, but at a slower rate than when you did not run. but if you think it is something more than that, defs go see a doctor. you could have a metabolic or thyroid issue. good job with your exercise regimen, and good luck! :]
