My bank and branch is the same bank and branch as my employer. They have taken out $90 in dishonour fees because 1 had 2 direct debits to come out. I contacted both the bank and the company but they could'nt stop the direct debits so they were dishonoured despite the uncleared wage cheque being in my account. I have written a complaint letter to bank customer relations. Who else can I contact?

  1. You will be able to cash the cheque if you go to the "home branch" of the account holder.

The point is that not all banks have the ability to verify the signature of the account holder, hence a cheque cannot be cleared unless at the "home branch"

  2. Reason may any of following:

1.Please check is your cheque credited to your account and check the current balance,

2.If your cheque is cleared after clearing process then bank has to answer your question.

3.If your cheque is not cleared yet, it may be under process then wait....

4.If your cheque is not under process (confirm with your bank), then find where it stuck .

5.Recheck at your work accounts section/department where your wages made, is there any stop payment instructed by your employer.
