I am painting a table. What type of paint can i use that wont rub once i use / place items on it?

Basically what base should i use and should i paint it clear on top. I am painting it different colors but will used the table to eat and place things on once im done with this project. thanks

Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and purchase furniture paint. No need for a clear coat this stuff is pretty durable. If you can't find it, ask and they will know what you're looking for. Don't forget to sand and prime first.
