  1. When applying visa, you need to go by your citizenship.

  2. You will need a Visa because you are going to be there an extended amount of time.

  3. You are still using a Libya passport which needs a UK visa. But if you leave US to go live in UK to study, you will lose your green card. Stay in US to go to school. Forget the UK scholarship.

  4. You will lose your permanent resident card for the United States if you leave the USA to go to The United Kingdom to study in school on a scholarship.

In order to remain a permanent resident of the United States with a valid green card you must live in the United States.  You can leave once every two years for a two month vacation to your national country of origin but you cannot live outside of the United States for an extended period of time let alone 4 years to go to school on a scholarship in another country.

You have to decide which is worth more to you as a person.

1- Should I give up the scholarship and NOT go to the United Kingdom to study and thereby staying here in the United States and keep my permanent residency status?

2- Do I want to study in United Kingdom for free on scholarship for 4 years and thereby having a free University education and lose my permanent residency (green card) from the United States.

Those are your only two choices................

  5. You will probably need a student visa in the UK.  Check with their immigration department.

Also, check with US Immigration to see if you need permission to live outside the US for an extended period.  (Or, get US citizenship before you leave, if you qualify.)
