  1. Hi, You have picked my 2 favourite countries to visit. In Holland we usually try to find an out of the way town to stay in so that we can really get the feel of the place. Breda and Oosterhoot are quite central with easy acces to all of the country. Visit Efteling theme park for a good day out and for a coast trip go to Zoutland with a stop off at Middleburg. As for France where do you start. This year we are going to St Tropez area stopping in a villa, try www.ownersdirect.com to find aplace for any budget and a good stopover tip is to stay in a motel. We use www.hotelformule1.com for a very cheap £17 anight room. Then we are travelling via Gap and Grenoble to Lake Annecy in the Alps for a few days stopping in another motel www.etaphotel.com. This area is stunning but dont tell everyone or they will all want to go. Enjoy your trip, I know i will.

  2. It depends on how long  time you have and what you like.....and if you are ready to drive a lot.

I suggest you not to miss these places anyway :

    Holland :

    Amsterdam 3 or 4 days

See Keukenhoff the park of flowers

    Rotterdam

    Delphes

You will go through Belgium, so it would be a pitty to miss

Anvers (=Antwerpen), Bruges and Gand and Bruxelles.

In France, you have many choices, I suggest you this way :

    - 5 days in Paris, among them 1 day in Versailles.

    - Then  you can visit castles along the Loire river (Chenonceau, Chambord, Blois ....) in 3 days for instance.

    - And then, you can go to visit Lyon where you can stay 2 or 3 days.

    - and as said the previous answer it's a good idea to visit the Alps (Lake Annecy is pretty), Lake Leman also. You can stay there a couple of days to walk in the mountain....

    - At the end, you can go until the french Riviera, Nice, Cannes, Antibes....and there, you can stay....it depends on you....maybe 1 week to rest on the beach.

Of course these are some important things to see among many in France.

  3. Bonjour,

I am not objective, I am from the south of France:°).

-Paris of course, you need at least one week to visit Paris, otherwise you wont see anything:Montmartre, Le Marais, the 6th and 7th areas of Paris, The Eiffel Tower,Notre dame de Paris, le Louvre etc the great museums, dont stick to your guides,go backstage and explore further...

    -Aix-en-Provence and Provence in general(Avignon, Marseille,Nimes,etc)..Montpellier...Mont... Languedoc)

-Toulouse and the spanish border(french bask country), my favorite region in France.

ps:I dont mention the French riviera because It has become only about big money and arrogant people, its packed with people at summer and you lose much time and energy in traffic,I am french and I dont go there anymore. But if you go there, prefer the small villages and the countryside, they reflect better the real traditional life.

    -Brittany is beautiful too.

    -Lyon is a nice city

And Geneva, Switzerland is really a charming town at the franco/swiss border, not far away from the french town of Annecy/Alps(Geneva is 5 kms from France/well half the airport of Geneva is actually in France).

    Good luck ,cheers,Valérie.
