we rent under the section 8 housing authority and dont know how i can adopt a kid. please give us so advice. planing to adopt 7-9 yr old

You will need to adopt through the state, because if you qualify for Section 8 housing, you would not be able to afford private adoption.

Contact the state office in your city, such as Child Protective Services, and ask for the adoption unit. After you tell them you may be interested in adoption, they will tell you what you need to do. You will be invited to attend an informational meeting where all the details are explained to you. Then you can decide how you want to proceed.

Keep in mind these children have been through a lot of grief and loss and abuse! They have special needs and require therapy to get through their lives. They have to have have firm but gentle boundaries, and lots of praise and consistent parenting. And they can never be called names, hit or threatened. You have an opportunity to truly give a good life to a child who would not have one without you! Honor this privilege.

They might have restrictions  about getting section 8 housing and adopting..  Kind of like if you can not afford to pay your own rent then how are you going pay for a child...?

You might consider fostering a child first and then make it known that you are interested in adopting them.

Friends were on an adoption list for a very long time, with no luck. They decided to foster brothers and they are in the process of adopting them.
