  1. Take in consideration that the Holiday and the Celebration are the smallest cruise ships on the Carnival Line.... you might not be too impressed but I think you can have a good time anyway.

I can advice you to go to www.youtube.com and type in Carnival Holiday because believe it or not people actually put in their videos or slide shows and they give you an inside of what you might expect on that cruise ship in particular.. and if you are lucky enough maybe there is someone that has gone to the same places you are going and they have pictures or videos. I always do this when I know in what specific cruise ship Im going and its so much fun to actually see people through the same journey Im about to take... it even gets you a little more excited about the cruise.

    Have a great time!!

  2. My god, I had no idea the Holiday was still active.

I worked there in 2001/2002, it was the worse ship Ive ever set my feet.

Food was disgusting, service was terrible.

And it was a shame, cause the cruise we did was very nice, 7 days out of San Jose, no sea days... San Jose, St. Thomas, Tortola, Martinique, Barbados, St. Kitts, Dominica.

Anyway, what I do remember was the amount of complaints we received, I worked reception then.

    Hope its better now.

  3. I was on the Carnival Holiday in January 2001.  It was my second cruise and my first cruise on a modern ship (my first cruise was on a ship that was forty years old).  The Holiday was built in 1985.  About the only thing the Holiday does not have that the newer Carnival ships do have are balcony cabins.  The only balconies on the Holiday are attached to the suites.

Other than the balconies, the other things that come to mind are at the end of the water slide you are in the pool (on the newer ships the slide is separate from the pool) and that this is the smallest ship in Carnival's fleet (small being a relative term, since the ship is longer than a 70 story building is tall).

I enjoyed my cruise on the Holiday enough to book a one week cruise on Carnival and it was that third cruise that really got me hooked on cruising.

The rooms are cleaned every day by one of the cabin attendants.  The Holiday was completely refurbished in 2006 ...

so the normal maintenance items (like carpeting, furniture, bedding ...) are only about one year old.

The food is as good as the people who cook it.  Though I have not been on the Holiday in six years, I have been on two other Carnival cruises in 2004 and 2006, and I think the food is pretty good (about 3.5 stars out of five).

Like all Carnival ships, the Holiday has plenty of lounges, bars, a theater, a disco and other dance venues to keep any night owl happy.

    Enjoy your cruise.
