Fantastic, comfortable and close to great restaurants/art off of St. Germain.  Near L'Odeon Metro, Sorbonne, Tuilleries, Notre Dame.  Easy to jump on train to go to Louvre, Eiffel Tower, shopping at Galleries LaFayette.  Cute restaurants, cafes, shops, patesseries....

also some great restaurants on this link:

  2. PLEASE NOTE:  At the time I am posting this the Y!Answers site is experiencing technical difficulties  and links are not functioning. Google the named plaxces and/or organizations to find their websites

My favorite inexpensive hotel is the Hotel St. Andre des Arts at 66 rue St. Andre des Arts in the 6th arrondissement. A double costs 89 euros a night. the price includes taxes and breakfast.

The RATP runs public transportation in Paris. Their website (available in English)  has maps and excellant tools for finding routes between any two points in Paris. http://www.ratp.com/

  3. Hi there, 4 days in Paris will be way too short, but you will enjoy it so much you'll want to come back :-)

Here's a link for Hostels at fantastic prices

If you're looking for budget hotels, visit this link, type in the dates you're looking for, select which monument you'd like to be located near.  You can then 'sort' the results by 'Cheapest double room' etc.

One star and 2 star hotels are clean and have to be of a certain standard, so you can find something in your budget:

For the metro, check out http://www.ratp.fr

When you find a website in French, look for a British or American flag to click on, so the site will be in English.

    Have a great time!

  4. I went to Paris last summer and we were only there for three days. The main thing to know about Paris in terms of where to stay is that all of the main tourist sites (Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame. Louvre, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Musee D"Orsay, etc are all located along the Seine.  Once you are at the Seine, there is a "bateau-bus" service - a boat that is hop on hop off so that you can pick it up at whichever spot you are at, and then get off wherever you want to visit next.  So, you can stay near any of the main attractions.  We stayed about a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel tower.  So each day we got up had breakfast, walked to the area of the Eiffel tower, hopped on the boat and went to our next destination.  Have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Hotel St.Honore in the 1st arrondisement is a great price and is only about 1 block from the Louvre.

  6. The Latin Quarter is great! Lived there for a month. Very central and lots to see. Quaint. Here's the metro site:

  7. If you want to see it ALL, I have a hotel with a central Metro Line but it isnt really around any sort of monument. It is called the Mercure Terminus Est. THe Mercure Chain is phenomenal. Try it out. THey have many Mercure in Paris.
