  1. comes a 30 day temporary tag but afterwards u need to get the real tag at the dmv.

  2. well you do need to apply for them and i think all you need is your drivers license, name, social security number, and an address to mail them to. i think.

  3. if you buy your used car from a used car lot (not a private owner) then yes, it will come with plates on it and the dealership will help you get the registration and plates transfered to your name.  Good choice of states to visit.  I was stationed there for four years in the navy - western Washington is beautiful.

  4. Some states the plates stay with the car, in others, (Missouri , Illinois, Kentucky, for sure) the new owner buys new plates or transfer plates from previous car...

Required documents.... proof of ownership, proof of insurance, proof of residence, tax reciept for previous year ( or waiver from county clerk), inspection certificate.....

Required documents to drive.. drivers licence, proof of insurance.....

Check with DMV in which ever state, they all have differences...

  5. If you buy a used registered car, you are set. You will need an address to register it to in the U.S..

How long do you plan on living in Washington? Chances are you can buy a used car and drive it for a month or two without doing anything with the registration.
