  1. well it depends if it is you and the wife try the valencia but it can be expensive

my personal favorite is the hotel contessa...try hotwire.com it is the only four star hotel listed under 4 star by the riverwalk in la villita area...its about 100 a night and is far sepurior to any other 3 star hotels for 150 a night...also try visitsanantonio.com for coupons on your vacation

  2. The Crockett is pretty cool and right across the street from the Alamo also the La Quinta isn't bad and it has free breakfast-It is right across the street from the Crockett and Riverwalk Mall-

  3. Depends where you'd like to stay in the city ..if you'd like to stay in downtown which is very centrally located to most attractions in the city, id recommend the Emily Morgan, its a beautiful  historic hotel, or possibly Hotel Valencia.

Im including a link to give you hotels and attractions   available in the city.

Hope you have a wonderful trip

  4. You can try hotel search in http://www.AmericaCheapHotels.com where you can read hotel details, reviews and comments, see photos and its physical locations through maps, details about important nearby locations ....

Best thing is you can compare the USA/worldwide hotel prices in any city in any country in your local currency.

You can find good deals because this compares hotel prices from 30 best travel websites.

You can even able to filter out hotel by its features such as Star hotels,Business Center, Room Service, High-speed Internet, Fitness Room, Restaurant Parking, Swimming pool, Pets Allowed, Airport shuttle, Handicap Accessible, Concierge ...

Access lots of USA and worldwide travel information.

  5. This would depend on your plans while in the city, and a reasonable expectation of your daily lodging budget.  Also, if yiou will be in town for a short stay, a standard hotel is a nice idea, but if you will be here for several days, then it is often nice to have the ability to prepare some meals to save money.

When in doubt I usually screen the hotels with Yahoo's hotel site for each city, then look to the city for suggestions of the ones which fit my needs.

  6. You can try http://www.hotelbooklet.com which compares more than 30 popular hotel reservations sites and shows the cheapest rates in San Antonio.

  7. I just stayed there last week and would recommend the Hills Country Inn & Suites just off the 410 Loop.  It was about 15-20min drive to all the main touristy places (Seaworld, Riverwalk).  The rooms were clean, the grounds were clean, staff was great.  Has a pool, hot tub & playground for kids, laundry room, covered porches with chairs to sit out and just relax.  We had rooms that had full kitchens as well and so we were able to buy grocery/snack foods and even used one of the two barbeque pits they had to grill one evening.  For the full kitchen rooms it was about $99 per night so a little pricey, but if you figure all you can save by cooking in its not so bad.  The area was quiet, they had security running around all the time, the pool/hot tubs were cleaned every morning....just all around a nice place to stay.
