I am planning on haveing golfish in a tank in my home, already set up the tank and pumps, can I use rain water

I have in a tank with rainwater outside can I use the rain water 2 replace the water I have 2 take out each day? The rain water is in a HUGE tank outside and it is free of Chlorine, so is it safe 2 use for goldfish?

I would recommend you use at least a 50/50 mixture of tap and rain water. And I would still use dechlorinator. And no you don't have to take water out everyday check your water on a weekly or needs-to-needs basis (fish a lethargic, staying towards the top or bottom, look distressed, or water is cloudy) whatever is first. When you check your water if all of your water parameters are fine then change 15-25% of the water and replace it with new water. If your water parameters are off do a 50% water change and refill with new water. Doing too frequent water changes will not allow your tank to cycle and the beneficial bacteria to build up.

Even if it is free from chlorine I would still use water conditioner.

Rain water is entirely devoid of essential dissolved minerals (magnesium, calcium, chloride, etc.), so using just rain water wouldn't be a good idea, as this will be very detrimental to the fish's respiration and osmotic regulation.  Using half rain water and half tap water would be a better balance, though.

yep sure well i live on rain water in the bush and my fish have that in there tank there nealy 3 years old and fine

so it shpuld be ok!

i also dont use water conditioner!!!

OK if the tank you have with the rain water in it is metal PLEASE DON'T USE IT you will kill your fish if its plastic and you know nothing is getting in it they will be just fine just i don't get the part you said replace the water you take out every day...you don't need to do that and if you do it to much you will upset the fish as silly as it sounds stress them out and will also kill them you don't need to take any water out if it gets low then yea replace it with chlorine FREE water
