I was wondering about alternative energy supplies such as: solar,or wind turbines. Would the cost of the parts be worth it?

  1. I want to do this also, here is what I've found.

I would suggest using interstate L-16/HC batteries, others may be better, but at $350 for the rolls brand, i can get almost 4 of the interstate.

  2. Research, research, research. Where is this cabin? What are the local resources? How much money are you willing to spend on such things? "Worth it" is a relative term.

  3. solar panels are brilliant!

im so happy u r doing this! good luck and go right on ahead  :D

  4. yes live off the land.and what it gives to eat.

  5. Watch what you build it out of, how much land you have to degrade to build it (road to it, clearing the land) and research the materials. How about a roof garden, solar panels or a plan to use grey water? Depending on what you choose and what kind of life you have and money to spend, it might be more eco friendly to just live in a house that has already been built near where you work etc, and just try to buy energy efficient appliances, new windows, etc.

  6. Are you crazyyy being eco friendly is like hard and yuck i suggest you buy the biggest house you can and fill it with electrical goods and buy an suv......

  7. in all...I would say $50,000 (including the cabin)

but it is priceless to save the earth!
