  1. I have had cats that spent most the their time outdoors and others who only go out briefy.

You can work with a cat to come indoors more and more frequently. I like to have them indoors, you can care for them better and be sure they aren't hidding illness or injury. Their life spans are shortened and if they are injuried by a car you feel sOOOOOO responsible.

At least be sure that she is neutered and has some shelter to stay in to be  out of the cold and rain.  Don't put blankets in it though.  If they get wet...they stay wet.  Instead, use straw or hay.

My husband build a little house for my cat to stay in. We kept the bed in the garage.  It was insulated and had only a small hole for him to get in and out of.  We also bought a cat bed that had a heating pad built in for the wintertime....we live in Pennsylvania, USA.  If you want to do this you must NOT use a people heating pad. It gets to hot and the one that came with the bed was lower voltage.

Hope you enjoy the kitty.  I have never regretted getting a cat they are great company.

    Best Wishes,

    Pat
