  1. I'm from Ireland I just moved here. Its a very beautifull place. You will never see so many shades of green as you will there. If you get a job & decide to stay for good you pay taxes to the government called stamps.when your out of a job they wil give you money every week & if you can't find a job they will send you on corses in different areas.if you end up being a single parent they will give you money calle the lone parent wage to help you look after your child.I think it only about E80-E90 for 1 kid.then when you turn 63 you are entitled to an old age pention.thats about 200 a week.you can also get free gas, electricity, phone &tv(you need a licence for a tv).If you are having difficulty paying rent they will give you a rent allowance. You & your child can get a medical card.that pays for all doctor bill but does not cover the dentist.Dublin city (where I'm from) can be very expensive to live in.But anywhere outside dublin would be fine.So you would find your way around the place you can get a tour bus. They're hard to miss.1 is bright green with shamrocks harps & lepricons on it the other is bright red with a messy drawing of earth & a mike.they take you all around the city.try not to mention a single word about Ian Paisley & the Orange Men cos your sure to get an ear full.If you say you agree with antthing they say you are sure to get a beating.Look him up & you'll see why.try mentioning Micheal Collins. He's the most famous freedom fighter in Ireland.People love you can find him on the web too.music is a huge love of the Irish people so someone in an old bar will always start to sing.go visit the Jameson distilery. Its huge!its like Willie Wonkas porter factory!Killkenny is very scenic with a lot of history buildings, you can go into the castle near the river & wlak around inside. It has alot of its original furnishings.Never leave your car or house unlocked cos you will be robbed. If someone says to you they were "pissed last night" it means they were drunk."Langered" means the same.If they ask you for a "ride" it means they want to have a 1 night stand with you.Dublin people are generally friendly & fun but Carlow people are so rude they don't even say hello to the people they know.(I lived there for 6 yrs before I came here)Try to stay out of donegal thats the west of Ireland. The people there are impoosible to understand evern for me.But its so beautifull there.I went to carne donah in donegal straight to kabwii in zambia. It was like moving from a photograph to its nagative!Oh yeah try not to mention the I.R.A.theres just too many mixed views about them.I on the other hand never minded them cos I knew most of them. But you will love Ireland.I have yet to meet a person who hasn't.& i can garruntee you will will never see another place like it on this earth.Good Luck on your new life.(Thats a good Luck from an Irish person, you know what they say!)

  2. Ireland Rules but watch the roads there lethal. Galway is quite expensive but nice. Mayo to WIN on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  3. learn to drink and i do mean drink

  4. You should post this on the UK/Ireland side of Yahoo Answers, they are very helpful and friendly. One question; why are you moving there if you have no idea what you are getting into? That doesn't sound too good to me to be honest with you.

  5. That's quite a move for not knowing what you are doing. First off I would fly to Shannon Airport not Dublin. Plan on living in the West or at least west of the Shannon River. It's very expensive. Things have changed a lot. Good luck.
