  1. Wish you Good luck to my beloved country!

I am sorry for now I am not in Nepal so look for suitable ppl to guide you through the places and Enjoy very much while you are there!

    Best Wishes!

  2. Both places are good. Take a simple hotel don't go for expensive ones because all hotels are equally good. NEGOTIATE ALWAYS. Thats the tip! You will listen the nepalis saying often IC and NC which means indian currency and nepali currency................ lol

  3. I just returned from Nepal! What a wonderful place with amazing people! I lived there for 3 months, and I absoutly loved it and I want to go back! I was unable to go to Pokhra, but I heard many great things about it! I was in Katmandu for 3 weeks and it was awesome!

Here are some tips and places you should visit:

    1. I would suggest getting the newest Nepali phrasebook published by lonley planet, while most Nepalese ppl in Kat know a fair amount of english, it would be a good resource for common phrases and culture.

    2. Bargan. 'Kati-ho' means 'How much' and always start out at half the price in Nepali rupees, they will give you a 'badeeshi' or 'forieigner' price.

    3. Some great places to eat are

The Red Dingo- Australian fam run resturaunt, very good, a nice change from Dhal Bhat (Nepali food) meals range from 200 N rupees to 350 N Rupees, and make SURE to try the thickshake coffee or strawberry, both very good.

The Lazy Gringo- mexican food, really good

Higher Grounds Cafe- great lattes for under a dollar! Located across the street form The Red Dingo in Jawlekel, down the street from Gemeni Grocery store

Buzz Cafe- Nice cafe with good food.

Roadhouse Cafe- great pizza, really nice! There are 2- one in Thamel and one in Jawlekel

I would reccomend staying at the Apple Pie guest house, very nice, very hospitable.

If you like shopping, Thamel is the tourist area, it has everything from a theater to clothing.

Kat is an awesome place, I hope you have an amazing time!

  4. try out nepal.but i suggest also vist north east india.it is more amazing to be alone on the roof of the world than to be with many others.

  5. do you have visa :-)

  6. Nepal is a nice place to visit in..

u should take ur back up like good clothes..

    check the weather condition

  7. The first person answering the post probably traveled Nepal at least two years back, when the Maoists were still insurgents. Now, they are going to lead the government and the problems that she described, esp the security situation, do not exist.

As for managing the trips personally, there are some good agents and some bad. You need to distinguish between them. It is always good to oversee the work that others are doing for you, if you choose to let people work for you. \

If you could say when you are planning to go, for how long and what you intent to do, then you might receive better answers.

  8. Okay First Of You have to try get a foreign guide maybe. If you look foreign (white/black/other asian) and dont speak nepalese... your guide might charge you more than its worth. But on the whole Nepal is a wonderful place i recommend you climb the Stupa in Pokhara. its got gorgeous views.

  9. hey its good u r going to Nepal but make sure that condition over there good.i had been there. one thing i would like to tell u.PLZ  plan ur trip personally as the tour manager over there dupes u. they say that the hotels they book have many facilities like intercom, tv ,etc.. but u wont get them there.. i had to fight with them to get a tv in my room...

second thing they say to have a boat ride, a house boatn charge u approximately 250 per person. but when u go there u will c that the boat ia a very small rowing boat which takes not more than 4 person n charge max200...

the sunrise point in pokhra is very nice.. during sight seeing in pokhra u will get to visit a waterfall n a cave u will be surprised to c that the cave is inside waterfall... rest all u see for ur self...

one more thing as i had mentioned to check the condition over there it means check for the maoist thing. as the journey form the border to katmandu takes 11 hours by bus, but we took 27 hours Bcoz the checking at several places. they(police) stop bus n check the passengers n their luggage.and they had curfew at night so no travelling after 8pm. please check for these things else u will waste ur time in travelling.

but remember manage ur trip personally dont go to any person (they have their office near the india nepal bridge on nepal side.)

hope u have a nice trip

tell me how it was after u return

    happy n safe journey
