Leipzig is a pretty nice place. The historic city centre is not big, not small. You can get to many major sights by foot from the main station (it is next to the city centre). There is also a great TRAM and BUS system here if you want to visit sights outside of the city centre. (All major lines operated every 5-10 minutes). The main tram station is in front of the Main Station (Hauptbahnhof).

Just get a good travel guide about Leipzig and discover the city! There are also some guided tours. If you need detailed information, there is an Tourist Information point in "Richard-Wagner-Straße" (there is a little park in front of the street) across from the Main Station (East Hall).

Berlin is a very big city with many sights, too. I definitely recommend an Travel Guide or you probably get lost.

You have to take a S-Bahn or U-Bahn (urban rail / subway) to go to almost all sights inside Berlin. I was there with some friends and it was very confusing to find the right train line to go to the sights. There is also an tourist information point in the main station of Berlin (near exit "Washingtonplatz").

I'm not sure about Berlin, but Leipzig is a very nice place.  It's quite small and quiet, but it has some wonderful monuments, restaurants and architecture.  The Bach Museum is well worth a visit.  Depending on the time of year there are a lot of events held there too - everything from carnivals and beer festivals to markets.

If you're not attending one of those events, then I think Leipzig would be a great way to wind up your holiday - I'm not sure about Berlin since I've never been there, but I gather it would need more time to fully explore.
