When would baby start eating and drinking the things I do? Also, I went for an ultrasound August 12, 2008, and the baby's heartbeat was 175 bpm. I am going to the doctor again on Thursday the 28th. What do you think they are going to do on Thursday? Any advice? Thanks! :)

  1. You need to watch what you consume right from the start, but more after 6 weeks. The doctor should just check you out, make sure your up to date with injections, tell you what you should eat and not eat... all the normal stuff - get used to lots of (unwanted) advice!

  2. They're probably just gonna check up on your baby again and make sure it's doing okay.

    And Congratulations!!

A couple of my friend's are pregnant too!

  3. Umm feel your belly and ask you how you feel. Thats probably it.

  4. I am due some time in March also I find out on Wed the 27th the actually due date!!! Congrats and good luck!

  5. well just a regular check up nothing special. just an in out make sure your not looseing weight like me. and they ask alot questions.

At about 20-22 weeks they will do the Big Check up where it takes forever u get blood work and other tests and ultrasound maybe be able to tell what it is... :)

  6. They will probably check the babies heart rate again. Feel your stomach, and ask if you have any questions...I like your due date...My b-day is 3/23.  I hope your a day late...lol

  7. 6 months after your baby is born is when you can start to introduce solid foods, but your baby probably wont be eating "the same stuff" you do until past the 12 month mark.

Your antenatal appointment will probably discuss the ultrasound results and any blood tests you had done and maybe even fill out some pregnancy information. The Doc might even have a prod and a poke of your belly and see if they can feel anything like your uterus.

My advice is to write down and ask any questions you have in relation to the pregnancy and get any information available. A good book to get is "what to expect when you're expecting" it has excellent questions and answers format and it has sections on month by month and eating for you and Bubs.

    Congratulations.

  8. Baby gets what you eat/drink/do right from the beigining. 175 is a fast heartbeat, but so was my daughters that early. The doctor said they are faster in the begining because they are so small. You will get weight checked, BP checked, and answer any questions you have. These appointments should all be the same for the next 6 months. Ask any questions you want. nothing is dumb or stupid! Enjoy and Best of luck!

  9. Usually your first appointment is with a nurse and then your second is with your doctor and usually it is an ultrasound and pap if you haven't had one in awhile and they will check the baby's heartbeat and your fundus. Then the third appointment it is usually just a check on your urine for protein and sugar, your weight, discuss with the nurse if anything is concerning you, blood pressure, and pulse, then the doctor will come in and see you and feel for your fundus and then check the babies heartbeat and talk with you about anything that is concerning them. That is pretty much it if I remember right. Hope this helped you feel a little more at ease.
