  1. some companies are not required to grant FMLA. it depends on their size and how long you worked there. you are not unemployed because you are still connected to the work - just on leave. worker's comp is for when you are injured on the job. you can apply for disability. you, your employer and doctor may have to fill out the form. you will receive a percentage of your wages. in NJ, its about 60% of your average.

  2. You do not get workmans comp. That is only if you hurt yourself while working.  Your work is required by law to grant you Maternity leave(FMLA) You will either have to get unemployment or use sick leave if  you have any.  Maybe your work gives people disability.  My work did, but it wasn't nearly what I made per week.  But it was better than nothing.

  3. I believe it is workers comp.  I recieved disability through workers comp.  Oh, it has been 8 years though.

Your job does not have maternity leave?  Oh, that is not legal I think.  Go to your HR and see.  If not, if you are not ashamed, go to the local Social Service for help and Medical.  They will give you food stamps, money.

The focus is your child and it needs all the care.
