The only baby shower I've ever had was 17 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. Is is proper to let my friend throw a shower for me? I don't want to seem like I am asking for gifts. I'm 37 years old and these are my 5th and 6th children.

  1. let her, the people that don't approve won't come, they can get over it. I love shopping for twins! its so fun to buy matching little outfits! congrats, enjoy your pregnancy

  2. If someone wants to throw you a shower, just let them. Don't feel bad about it.

    Congrats on your twins!

  3. If it's her idea and she wants to do it, go for it!

  4. Of course, let them. They are probably so excited to pick out gifts for twins. Have fun!

  6. Let your friend plan and invite that way you don't need to worry the cost being to much.  she knows her budget and I think it's coming form her heart.  let her be a friend that wants to do something special for you.

  7. Baby showers are a fun time for you and your friends and family to get together and celebrate the new ones coming!! Everyone loves buying babies stuff I think you should let her :) Enjoy it!!

    and congrats!!

  8. I think it is fine.  When the children are sooo far apart, you obviously don't have a ton of things left over.  Go for it!

  9. if your friend wants to have a shower then have one!! it would be rude to tell them no! a baby shower is to celebrate the birth of a child (in your case 2) but its sort of like a birthady party people just bring gifts for you. do you need all new baby stuff? if not you can just ask people to bring diapers and thats it.

  10. personally, I think baby showers are for your first child only....BUT...if your friend wants to do this, on her own..and you have no part in it..Let her...you would probably hurt her feelings if you told her not to.

But on the other hand...with 4 children prior to these twins..You probably have all you need. I would make it a small intimate event with a few people..I have a big family, that wouldnt take it the right way if i invited them...Thats where my opinion comes from. Please don't take offense to that.

  11. why not? its a party time and I would read about new ideas for Baby Shower gifts at:

  12. i dont think its for ur first child only at all .. its a celebration for a new life to enter this world.. and if she wants to throw it for u then great! thatll be such a help especially with twins.. good luck hun and congrats u must be sooo excited !
