I am presently at chicago on a b1 VISA, Can I visit Australia on one of my weekend? do I need a separate VISA?

I am from India, I have got 10 yrs multiple entry VISA to US. I am permitted to stay at US till 11th May 2007.(3 months)

Vinod, please check if you can find a real long week end to make the trip before spending any money on Visa application. Other wise you will spend your time in travel and transit!!

Also make sure that 're entry into USA will not pose problems despite the Multiple Entry stamp with in such short gap between departure & arrival.

Yes, you need a visa to go to Australia.  You do not, however, need another visa in order to go back to the US.  The visa you have is still valid, and when you return you will get a new I-94 card with a new departure date.
