My ex has a suspended license and I am worried that he will do something bad in my car (and it is registered to me). I want to call the police but I dont think that I can because he is the secondary signer on the car. What can I do?

  1. You can call the police. He is driving with a suspended license. And, since you're the primary signer, I would assume that that gives you primary ownership of the car, i.e. he can't just take it if you don't want to let him.

... Especially if he's not legally allowed to drive any vehicle, whether he owns it or not.

  2. if the title is in your name alone then yes, you can call the police. if he has an accident with the car , not having a license will mean that you will be held libel for any damages.

  3. Call the police and report it stolen.  Let the cops sort it out from there.

  4. if you call the police and tell them you lent him the car knowing he has a suspended license then you are also responsible for lending your car to someone you knew to be without a licence.

But you can say you only found out about the license AFTER he took the car. Anyway, the focus should be on the fact that he's refusing to give it back to you.

Ahhh wouldn't it be easier if people got on along and didn't become each other's EX.
