The Croatian tactician was proud of his players after winning the latest Russian Premier League tie 3-0 against Terek Grozny at Akhmad Arena on Saturday
Slaven Bilic has hailed his side following Lokomotiv Moscow’s emphatic win against the Chechens on the away turf. The visiting side broke the deadlock after scoring three goals in the second-half after a quiet first-half.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maksim-Grigoryev-c23217, Maicon and Viktor Obinna scored one goal each for the Moscow-based club as Bilic’s men recorded their sixth win of the ongoing league campaign. As things stand, they are at the 2nd spot on the league
table.
Bilic, who moved to Russia after terminating his contract with the Croatian national team this summer, revealed that his side deserved all three points after dominating the entire match against a decent side.
The fact that the Railroaders managed to win against a team that recorded their second defeat of the season delights Bilic, who believes that Lokomotiv are progressing at the moment.
“I am proud of my players. I am pleased that we managed to get all three points in such a difficult away game at Grozny. It depicted the player’s desire to win the game.”
“Moreover, today we played confidently against a team who were at the first place in the standings. We made some dangerous counter attacks in the first-half by taking full advantage of the free zones.”
“In the Second half, we made some changes in the attacking game and in the end we managed to get a well-deserved victory.” The former West Ham Untied player was quoted as saying.
Bilic went on to thank his players for their impressive display, insisting that his side entertained their fans by playing attacking and quality football. He admired his team’s character and urged them to extend their decent domestic
run.
Lokomotiv will now lock horns with FC Torpedo Armavir in the Russian Cup prior to their tough away visit to Petrovsky stadium in order to go head to head with the defending league champions, Zenit St. Petersburg.
Bilic warned his side against complacency, telling them it’s still too early to make conclusions.
