I have a shed that sits on a slab of cement. When putting on the sheathing should it rest on the cement or should I lift it up a little? Also, how far apart should the edges of the sheathing be?

  1. When I've done this I rest the sheet on large nails to create a small gap under it. Otherwise, moisture wicks up and can cause the plywood to expand and bubble. Butt the edges up tight.

  2. put a treated 1 x 4 around the base of your shed nailed with treated nails and just a nail's thickness off of the cement.  Then rest bottom of "sheathing" on top of the board.  Not quite sure about the edges thing!?!?!?

  3. I think you are talking about the siding.  She thing goes on the roof.  The only thing to touch the concrete is the treated seals (Bottom Framing) which should be treated from moisture and rot.  This should also be anchored with bolts to the concrete.  Good luck.  Please remember me in picking your best answer.  Thankyou
