ok so i was driving my ******** piece of shhit blazer again today and it just quits in the middle of a blind curve on a hill but i was lucky enough to get it into someones driveway and get it restarted... i have no idea what could possibly be wrong i can be drving along and all of a sudden it looses all power and just dies.. right there in the road and after a few tries she cranks right up! like nothing ever happened... i have had a complete tune up done and a new fuel pump and filter! i am at a complete loss! what should i look for next.. and no to mention it can go days without doing this and then again it can do it every day its just when ever it decides to... its a 2000 chevy blazer 4.3 automatic... i also added water remover to the tank and no help what so ever...

  1. 4.3 Engines are known for all kinds of head gasket and oil sludge problems. You should read the class action lawsuit that came about not too long ago regarding these and other GM engines.

  2. Check all the sensor, computer and ignition connectors, there could be an intermittent short. You may be lucky enough to find some corrosion. Ignition coil can have a temperature related fault, when it cools off a little it will work fine, take a look there. Sounds like an electrical gremlin though, this kind of stuff is very hard to trace.

Sludge like the above guy says would cause oiling failure, this would not cause an intermittent problem like you describe.

  3. If you have a carborated engine, going up hills will cause all the fuel to move to the back of the carb.  So you loss power and in some cases can kill the engine.
