ok well i have a 20 gallon tank with one fish in it at a time maybe 2 tops but they only live for like 2-3 months. I spent $16 onmy last lionhead and my water is fine. I use water conditioner. I think I should get a different fish. Could I put one feeder or commet in my 20 gallon because it seems like they are really hardy unlike the fish i've had. (orandas black moores fantails lionheads) I know goldfish are messy and get huge)I have a filter live plants airstone gravel and a thermometer in there. How many could I get? Are they hardy? How fast do they grow? How long could one live in a 20 gallon?

  1. I used to have goldfish years ago,in a 20 gal tank.I started with 8  and kept them till they out grew the tank( about 2 years). At that time I put them in a 40 gal tank.(they had grown to about 6 " long)for another year. then moved them to a pond in the yard. At that time they were over 9" each.

It took a lot of cleaning, but it helps if you add a small sucker type fish

and a couple of snails, they help clean the tank. Hope this helps you some.

  2. 20 gallons if fine for one fancy

    feeders/comets need 50 gallons
