  1. This particular hurricane poses no threat to you. It's making landfall right now, in Texas and Mexico.

However, you owe it to yourself to learn more about hurricanes if you're going to be this scared every time there is one.

First, unless you live within a mile of open water (and many experts say a half mile), you're in substantially less danger than people who paid for waterfront properties. Once the hurricane gets over land, its power is substantially reduced. Storm surge (a localized series of high waves driven by wind) can't reach you, and that's what does the most property damage and causes the greatest loss of life.

Your household should be prepared for high winds and loss of electrical power for a few days. Keep bottled water, flashlights and batteries, and shelf-stable, ready-to-eat food on hand, bring in the grille and your bikes, stay away from windows, and you'll be just fine.

  2. It's on the way get under your desk.

  3. Don't worry, it's not heading at you. Plus it's only a category 2, capable of damage but not threatening really, specially as you're not in it's way. =)

  4. well rain and hail is a sighn of a hurican.is the hail like large pices? cause if it is thats a bad sighn

    so let me know

  5. It's not even close by you..Its on the south of Texas and north of Mexico..I'm from Brownsville so we got the direct hit and it was no biggie..it was alot of rain and wind..he rain is still going on right now as I write this message

  6. Connecticut is pretty safe from hurricanes.  Not to worry, dear.

  7. NO, Dolly is hitting Texas and Mexico. You will be fine!!
