I am really scared please help?

Question

Okay a few days ago our town was hit by a tornado. The first one I have ever witnessed and I am 21 years old. Well we were all shocked because we live in such big hills and we never thought we would ever have one. Now again today there is a tornado watch until 10:00 I just don't know what to do I am so scared I know it is just a watch but that is what it was the other day and it is soo hot and muggy outside like the other day too...any advice?

Um maybe just like relax don't think about it........listen to music...........or take a nap...........or talk to someone you trust to make you feel better.

if ur scared moove somewhere to a relative anywhere safer until this all ends and stay down low somewhere like basment or underground hope i helped

I know statistics don't do much, but tornadoes in your area are vary rare, so if it just happened, then you should have another 20 years before you get another one.  Tornadoes happening in the same town in the same week is very rare.

I don't blame you for being scared.  First take a deep breath and remember all the things you were taught in school.  Go to the lowest part of the building, or and interior room.  Take a radio with you.  Stay away from windows, don't forget the phone also.  Make sure you listen to the weather alerts and follow what they say.  What ever religion you are pray to your God to keep you, your family and neighbors safe and out of harms way.  

Just remember there are many people who have the same feelings as you.  And there are people you can talk to about being afraid.   Good Luck and keep your head high.

relax, go to your basment, celler, or neighbor's to be save. or go on vacation for a while, orr.... move.
