I am redecorating my room?

Question

I am having it oriental/chinese/japanese themed

The colour scheme will be red black and white (maybe a bit of gold?)

Do you have any ideas of what i could do?

do your own artwork! it really adds personality and individuality to your room! and you'll be well proud of it. i have an african themed bedroom and i love pictured and ornaments of elephants why not find something like that that you'll love?

You could have an oriental flower pattern on one wall.

Look on Ebay and places for traditional chinese things like lucky cats and lanterns to make it feel more authentic. Look at pictures and stuff for inspiration as well.

This is a easy look for you to do as there are so many great shops out there to help with accessories. But be careful as well - this look has the potential to look tacky as well as classy.

Keep everything very simple and have clean lines. Use effective storage to hide away clutter. Furniture should be basic but stylish. And let your accessories do the talking!

Invest in some beautiful japanese prints for your wall.

You can buy them as wall hangings or prints which you can frame.

Use shiny fabrics like silk for pillows, curtain, etc. The red, black and white makes it seem more of a Chinese theme than a Japanese one. I would definitely incorporate dragons or other Chinese symbology into fabrics or pictures. You can make your own Chinese lamps to hang around your room. Also, check out dollar stores for interesting ornaments and candle holders. Hope this helps :) I'll post a link for more inspiration. Good luck!
