I am redoing my room!?

Question

I am turning a teen and i am redoing my room and i want it either to be blue and brown or pink and brown with lots of decor pillows! Please nothing kiddish if you can give me the link! thanks!

I think that the blue/brown would look better and you wouldn't grow out of it as fast. If you do want the pink, it depends on the shade. If you want an older look, I would try a lighter pink. However light pink and brown do not go together very well. I would go with blue and brown.

What I would do is paint the walls blue. But not too dark, because if you have a small room it might feel like the walls are closing in on you or it could make your room look really dark. To decide what shade of blue looks best, go to benjaminmoore.com or sherwin.com/visualizer. Once you pick your shade of blue, then keep that shade when getting pillows and accessories.

For the furniture, brown furniture would look the best. Just make sure you like the way it looks. If not, I would go with white furniture as a nuetral shade. Ikea has very cheap furniture and it looks very modern and teenish. =]

but you may already have your furniture. If thats the case, keep it, whatever color it is and that can add another shade in your room. (ex: if your furniture is already white, then maybe add a few white pillows or white sheets on the bed.

For the bedding, I would get a really pretty chocolate brown duvet cover. Here are a few.

Then once you pick out the bedding, you can accessorize with blues. Get blue sheets, blue pillows and maybe a blue quilt to drape over the end of the bed.

Here is a fun tool that can help you decide how you want to do your bedding. They may not have much brown on here, its only pbteen fabrics so it may not help you, but it will help you decide what shades of blue you like.

If you have a brown desk, then I would recommend getting blue bins and sitting them on the shelfs to add more blue to your desk. If it is a white or other color desk then get brown and blue bins. Just make sure you measure before you buy them to make sure they fit. If you don't have a desk, then you can do the same thing but put up brown shelves anywhere in your room. You can get shelves at home depot and you can get cheap bins at ikea.

Also here is another cute tip. Get a big full sized mirror with a cork board frame and put up a blue ribbon around it, covering up the cork board. Then you can tack up pictures on the ribbon and it will look really good!

Also, what I did in my room is got a big poster from

and add a blue border. Or if your not into that kind of stuff then search. They have everything. Mine was of a beach.

Also, I do not like miley cyrus at all and im not sure if you do but I think her room will give you inspiration. Its your colors.
