I am relocating to Tempe, AZ from Los Angeles, CA. Is Tempe a safe neighborhood for a family with children?

Yes, most of it is pretty safe. As you go east towards Mesa it sort of goes downhill.

A lot safer than LA, better schools too.

Yes! Tempe is a nice town. It's college town (ASU), so watch out for the drunk kids on the weekends. School is just starting, so they'll be experimenting being away from home for the first few months....LOL

FYI - L.A. can get hot, but atleast cools down at night. Phoenix is still in the high 80's at midnight.
