I am renting a house from my brother in law and we decided to get one of those easy set pools, its 18 by 48...

now he is telling us that we cant have the pool because his insurance company wont insure the house if he is renting it with a pool.....we were going to fence in the rest of the yard and we bought the fence ourselves , because he had told us we could have it with a fence, but now he says we cant...does anyone know if this is the case? Or do you know any companies in NY that allow landlords to insure with a pool?

Read the policy of the house insurance. I know that any modification to the House and Lot must be inspected and approved by the insurance company. To be included in the policy. If it's not their he won't be able to claim not even a single penny for a violation. Read their policy.

Wow, that seems so crazy because that's such a small pool!!  I'm sorry I can't help, but wanted to sympathize!!
