I am researching for my first car and i really need help!?

Question

I was able to come across a 1984 xj6 series III in mint condition for around $5,000. I know this is a great buy but my parents refuse to let me look at it unitil they have more information on it such as the safety and crash ratings along with the road test but i was unable to find a website that dated back to 1984. If you can find a website it would be great for you to post it or you can just give me your personal experiences with the car thanks.

They are a fun car to drive. Insurance will be expensive. Repairs are very expensive.  They are a safe car as long as you keep your mind on the driving not on anything else. Your dad should go out and test drive it, No you don't want to do that He'll buy it for himself.

Looks good but the repairs and maintenance will put you in the poor house very quick, I have worked on many of these and there are alot of parts that have to come from the dealer and they give little to no discounts.

Very safe car,they are always in the shop,hence you are in no peril. Look for a newer car w/air bags.
