  1. Those items are fine as long as you check it in with your luggage and declare it in customs. Be careful the wine and bottles can make your luggage super heavy. I would also pack the wine in the wooden boxes they are shipped in, in France. A half case which holds six bottles isn't really that big and fits in an average size suitcase. Luggage handlers are so rough with your things!

  2. You'll be fine as long at they're in your checked luggage. You can choose rather or not you want to declare the items (you'll receive a form on the plane). Generally, to be safe, you should declare them on the form. In my experience, they don't even check your luggage. When you first get off the plane in the US, you do have to retrieve your luggage, even if you are continuing on. You turn in the form to an officer to be checked, then it goes in to another person. The final stage is when they recollect the baggage. At no point did I see them check a bag, few even went through the scanners. My mother had a similar experience when she went to Europe.

Those items are fine to bring back as long as you have declared them. Besides, in most cases, they will not inspect your luggage.
