I am reupolstering kitchen chairs. I am worried about the dark color staing light pants.?

I rubbed a light cloth on the fabrich and nothing rubbedd off but do you think I should wash the fabric first or am I worrying roo much. I don't want the fabric to shrink either.

  1. The only issue you may want to check is:  just wet a little of the chair fabric with water and then put your piece of light coloured fabric on it for 20 minutes or so just to make sure the colour isn't going to run should there be a wet behind sitting on the chairs.

    If you have tried the light cloth rub and tub and had no problem get a spray can of "Scotch Guard" from your hardware or furniture shop and spray the new fabric on the chairs with it. Let it dry and that will protect the chair fabric from any stains and also help to seal it to stop any staining of clothing.
