Question:

I am running 1500 metres today?

Any advice? I am 12 and I am a bit nervous xx

  2. The 1500 is my favorite run! As for race strategy, don't run too fast in the first 300 meters (3/4 of a lap). Keep a steady pace until you have 2 laps to go. You can make a lot of progress in that 3rd lap if you pick up the pace just a little bit. Then, sprint the last 200 meters (or the last lap if you have the energy).

  3. have you been training.... i hope so.

    before you start you should

    - eat a small healthy breakfast

    -go for a quick jog and then stretch

    1500 metres really isnt that far when you think about it!

    when you start running get infront of everyone and try and stay infront for as long as you can. in a 1500m race people are always scared to start running as fast as they can. run flat out on the last lap!

    push yourself, but pace yourself at the same time!

    fitness is not only a physical thing but a mental thing as well. believe you are capable!!! good luck!! tell us how you go!
