I am running on a treadmill and change speed every 5 mins like 4.5, 5, 5,5, 6.0 miles which makes 20 mins. Is this better for fat loss or running at a steady speed of say 5 miles/hr for 45 mins

  1. run long and slower for fat burning...and go run outside for a better workout

  2. stead speed for fat burning and change speeds for endurance and to get faster

  3. For fat burning you should do a long run with the last few minutes a faster pace. And when you get used to running at those paces you should kick it up a notch and start running faster everyday.

  4. The longer you run the more calories you burn and endurance you'll create. So try to work your way up to jogging at comfortable pace for an hour then later add 1min sprints in between that 1 hour jog. Also go to runnersworld.com they have advise from professional marathoners and even have a log to record you progress.

  5. Yes, running longer like that certainly works better than going 8.5, 9.5 for 6 minutes.(What  I do)
