So I am 15 and tomorrow I am going to the chiropractor for the first time.

Do they weigh and measure you? What about Xrays? Do you have to take your clothes off?!

And Anything else you know. Thank you so much

  1. Xrays are a possibility depending on what problem you are taking to him.  I worked for a chiropracter and we never weighed patients and I doubt any other chiropracters do either.  This has nothing to do with the kind of health matters a chiropracter deals with.  If they are dealing with your back they may give you a patient gown but let you wear your pants with it. For arms or legs, dress so they can see the area while you are dressed.  If you are asked to take off clothes and the area you are having trouble with is easily viewed without clothes removed, find a different chiropracter and refuse to undress.  Don't wear anything metal that could interfere with xrays of the part that is bothering you.  That includes pants, shirts and bra (even the little hooks are metal on bras).  If none have metal you should not need to undress for the xrays either.

  2. I am sorry but are you kidding? have you been to a doctor before? well chiropractors usually does not make you take your clothes off, and unless you have a broken back (which if you did you would not be on-line right now) I do not think you will get an X-ray. I would not worry about it, it will be less of a hassle then going to get a routine check up and what ever you are going in for I am sure it will only help.

  3. Don't be scared. They're there to help you.

And it all depends on what you go for, and the doctor. Usually, any doctor I go to takes my weight and height so they can give me the proper dose of medicine (if needed).

Usually you'll just have to bend over and touch your toes while they check your back, and sometimes you have to lay down. It isn't all that bad. That's what they did to me when I went to the chiro.

Oh! And, they didn't take X-rays with me.. but if they find something funky on your back, they might take X-rays to find out what it is. Don't worry about that either, X-rays are actually kind of cool... :]
