I am scared of planes when they go up what should I do?

  1. Unfortunately, during take off they don't let you fire up your personal electronic devices that might have distracted you enough to get through that difficult 5 or 6 minutes.

    Would pulling out a really captivating book or magazine distract you at all? Or, you could initiate a conversation with your seat mate...you could even say, "I'm super nervous, can you entertain me till we get up to cruising level?"

    The rushing feeling of take-off is pleasurable to some people...maybe you could take a few minutes to try and enjoy the feeling, thereby conquering your fear.

    Anyway, please try to relax and enjoy. Travelling is really fun once you get used to it.

  3. Think about how much longer it would be to drive or take a train to where you are going.  Get on the plane and realize you are on the safest form of transportation.  Everything will be ok.

  4. take a mint or a hard candy, and suck it during takeoff. close your eyes and relax. this relaxes the mind and relaxes ur body.

  5. try closing your eyes, or read a magazine, if the other people in your row will let you maybe close the window. you could also focus on breathing. in and out. it will be fine!!!!
