  1. New clubs might help your game, but they are not going to  make  you a scratch golfer.

The most important thing in golf is your ability, good golfers can trade clubs during a round and still beat you.

  2. i shoot around the same score as you and right now im trying cobra and nike and i love them both cuz i can both so well but its whatever you choose but those are the two brands i would try

  3. some big berthas

  4. you cant go wrong with cobra taylormade or nike nd ping putters r brill

  5. buy a custom made set from your local club maker.  i got one a few years ago and the entire set cost less than brand name irons alone.  immediately took 5 strokes off my game.  best investment i ever made.

  6. You really need to try out different clubs for yourself as different clubs suit people differently.  For example, I find Cleveland's have too low a trajectory for my liking, whilst Titleist suit me better.  Other than that they're all much the same and its all down to personal preference on looks, or using the same clubs as your favourite pro.

With regards to type of club if you recently started playing and are constantly improving and are now shooting low 90's whislt a few months ago you were shooting inthe 100's then I wouldn't recommend a super-game improvement set as you;ll soon reach a point were the usefulness of those clubs is over.  If that is the case then something aimed at mid-handicappers (cavity backs but with less offset and thinner topline and base) are the things to go for.  They'll give you forgiveness on off-centre hits, but have enough playablity that as you improve you'll be able to shape the ball a bit.  If however you have been playing for 10 years and have reached the limit of improvement, then I would recommend game-improvement irons that will help keep the ball on the fairway by having large head which will resist turning (downside is that you'll battle to turn it over if you want to shape the ball, but on the plus side it will be difficult to hook/slice the ball), and with low MOI will help get the ball in the air and land nice on softly on the green.

  7. Go to a Professional Shop and have a look on a launch machine with some different irons along side with a Pro or somebody who knows alot and then they will be able to help you with getting golf clubs.

Have a look into custom fitting. That can really help with confidence and knowing the clubs are fitted to your own swing.

There will be no blaming the golf clubs when you hit a bad shot, only the guy who did the fitting if you don't like to blame yourself.

Since I have had new irons which are not fitted to me but my dad (I went to see if they needed changing and they are fine) I have dropped 8 shots off my handicap.

This may not be just the clubs, but i'm sure they will help a little

  8. I recommend a new or used set of game improvement clubs.  Ping or Callaway come to mind.  Get cavity back irons, more forgiving on mis-hits, larger sweet spot.  Go for Metal Woods possibly the new 460's drivers.  (very large head)  CallawayGolf.com or Golfsmith.com have

new used stuff.  (used is rated and refurbished)  Look at your buddies clubs and swing ones that appeal to you.  Be sure to get right flex and length.  Shop ebay also when you know what you want.  Putters important to, remember....drive for show, putt for dough.  Good luck!

  9. Get the new 08 TaylorMade Burner Driver, Irons, Fairway Wood, and Hybrid, then get a Ping or Odessy putter and ur choice of wedges (cuz there aren't Burner putters or wedges out yet.

  10. Theres lot of good club sets to name. My advice is go to Golfsmith or GolfGalaxy talk to a pro try as many set as you want and get fitting also.

  11. hmmm i read in tiger woods book "my personal choice" that you should buy the ones with the monkey heads attached them, they come in red, maroon, blue and monkey vomit. you should also try monkeys are monkeys and monkedas. this is what tiger woods the master of all flying monkeys prefers......
