I am searching for a sport bike to buy under $1,500. I found one on ebay but i have never bought anything on?

ebay before.Im scared to pursue it! There is 17 hours left to bid on it.How do i know i wont get scammed.The seller lives close to me can i just go see the bike in person?I dont want to buy something i cant see first.

I just bought a bike frame on ebay for $1700. I asked for the guy's phone number and I called him and talked to him which made me feel better. However, I really regretted doing it after sending the money. As it turned out, the frame was absolute perfect without a flaw and I got a great deal.

Despite it working out so well, I don't think I will do it again. Too nervous. I have bought things where after asking the seller, they allowed a local pickup. Then you can't go too wrong since you can see it in person.

Just paid 2000 for a brand new never assembled Colnago CLX with Ultegra Group and Mavic Ksyriums.  I buy and sell bikes all the time on Ebay never had an issue yet.

I beleive ebay has buyer protection only up to $300 if you get scammed. So above that amount...youare taking a risk...if you buy and pay for it on EBAY.

BUt the best bet is to go look at the item in person and buy it  that way - and pay in person instead of with PAypal.

Don't rush ....get the right thing for you.

But if you find it - be ready to get in your car and go buy it.

Some sport bikes are bad for beginners (dangerous) pretty much anythign over 600 CC is asking for trouble.....

Get a smaller one for the first yr. you can sell it for what you baught it for so you wont loose money.

A 500, 600 CC or less...to start out on...and some cool 400's to choose from too.

Suzuki Ninjas 250's and 500's get recomended allot. And there are others too. THe Yamaha Seca II used is around $1500 and is a 600 cc. ANd SUzuki Bandit 400 or 600 are around that price too.  

Dont forget safety gear ....it can easily cost more than $500.

I spent 1000 on a moped on eBay I paid 100 through pay pal & the rest in person I would not have done all over the net. the seller should be able to answer questions on the viewing page, I would certianly ask about seeing it in person.
