I KNOW MY TRUE BIRTH NAME. I ALSO KNOW WHAT CITY AND STATE THAT I WAS BORN IN. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I ALSO KNOW THE NAME OF THE HOSIPTAL WHERE I WAS BORN. BUT I DO NOT KNOW THE NAME OF MY BIRTHMOTHER. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ME? OR TELL ME HOW TO GAIN SUCH INFORMATION WITHOUT SPENDING MASS AMOUNTS OF MONEY? WHICH, MONEY IS SOMETHING THAT I DO NOT HAVE! NOT HAVING THE MONEY TO LOCATE THE PROPER RESOURCES, MAKES THIS EASY TASK SO HARD!!!!!!!!!! SO ANYONE OUT THERE WITH ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE LEGAL SYSTEM AS FAR AS CLOSED ADOPTION IS CONCERN PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA THIS ANSWER BOARD!!

  1. Since you know your birth name. I would look in the phone book for Last names the same as yours. Call the numbers and see if anyone knows of you or your birthmother. Also this may not still exist but  I would she if the health department has your original birth certificate on file still. These are usually gotten rid of but I know a girl how was hunting for her mother and some how they still had her original birth certificate at the health department. You could also take an ad out in the local paper where you were born asking for information.

  2. I am also adopted and found my birth family less then a year ago.  Usually your parents or your gardian would have your adoption papers. Which includes alot of information.  Yur birth weight, shots, any siblings, your birthmothers information, such as her name where she use to live, who took care of you before you were put up for adoption or dyfs. The way i went about it was i went to adoption.com. Created an account and when i was givin my adoption papers i found out i had a brother that was also givin up for adoption, so i typed his name in and there he was.  On his account he had more information then i had.  And he even had a contact number.   This account he created was from like 2001 and i found him in 2006.

I just turned 20 and i only kept in contact with my birth family for a couple months.  I found out information i needed to put my mind to rest.  But let me tell you somthing, i thank god everyday that i wasnt raised in that white trailer c**p family.

I hope your only trying to find them to put your mind at ease like i did, becuase you dont want your hopes up.  There would never be a relationship between you your birthmother that gave you up for whatever reason and her family.  Its like looking and talking to a complete stranger

  3. Also adopted and born in NOLA.  Write me sometime, and I can give you the heads up on who to trust help you search in this city and who you cannot.  They have some searchers only after your money.  I knew one that was a real *****.  It's hard to find something for free.  Also, New Orleans is probably one of the hardest places to search.  Unfortunately, you will not be able to get your original birth certificate in this state.

  4. same question, try to visit my profile and go to my question the answer is there im sure it will help you alot,im adopted too and still searching...good luck!

  5. You can also try to sign up on some adoption reunion registries.

    They have one at www.adoption.com

  6. Are you over 18? I was adopted and my adoption was 'closed' but I had the right to view my records once I turned 18. I went to my county courthouse (where I was adopted to, not where I was born) and they let me see them. I think there was a thing where I had to have a judge sign a paper. It was pretty easy though. I got to see them the same day.

However, every state might be different. But, I think in most you are entitled to see your records after you turn 18. If you're under 18, I don't think there's any legal way around it.

Also, the adoption terminology may have changed since I was 18. I think they called my records sealed or something like that. I know it wasn't an open adoption.

Another option to try is the sites with reunion registries like adoption.com. Google 'adoption reunion' or 'adoption registries' to search for others. Good luck on your search.
