  2. You need to "do the numbers".

Calculate what an average home's equipment will cost to provide the amount of desired.

I'd guess that you are looking at a basic 10-20K per home using a net metering arraignment (i.e. no battery storage).

This will roughly provide 50% of a home's power requirements.

If you assume the average home spends $3000 per year on power you will save the home owner $1500.

Looking that these rough guesses it going to be very tough to make any sort of profit. If they pay you the $1500 they saved each year your are just about going to break even in about 10 years.

I think your big problem is going to be that the average family moves every 5-9 years and assuming that the next family to take up residence in a home on which your system sits will want your service is a significant gamble.

Maybe the coming increases in electrical bills with the increases in oil, gas and coal prices will make the numbers look better but solar panels are going to cost more too.

I don't think the rough numbers look very good.

It could be that you could market your system to customers on the basis that their power is going to cost more than purchasing it from a power company but at least half of what they use is solar power.

They may be willing to pay more than the average cost for their power if this is the case and you could gain your profit from this increase.
