I am secretary of global egroup,I received notification of death of a member, how should I tell the group?

I am secretary for global yahoo group - so many members do not know each other, other than postings. We know nothing about how our member died etc.

You could post the message and send it as a special notice in order for more members to receive it.  On my main group I also put the member's photo on our cover page.

i guess just a special notice informing the group of the sad death of a member of the group, something about thinking of the family at this time... if you're not close enough to know much, i guess that's all you can do.
