I am seeking a filmmaking degree from Houston Community College?

I have done some research on the field and realized there is a great demand and this business is booming and am very excited about taking my first courses after now having completed all of my basic studies. But I have friends who got their degrees in other fields and cannot find jobs. Don't want to be in that boat. It's always been a dream and the dream is finally coming together but don't want to be unemployeed with a worthless degree. Should I gamble and stick with the dream or cave and go with a major that I'm really not interested in all for the bottom line...money.
