I am selling jewery on craigslist. The buyer wants me to use paypal and ship two items to Ca and also Africa.

I just opened a paypal account as he asked and he said that he will transfer the money to me. $1,000.00 transaction. Does this sound legit as I have never used pay pal before. Is there anyway to be scammed? If I go through with sale, what should I charge for shipping to both Ca. and his girlfriend in Aftrica?

Shipping anything to Africa is probably a scam, especially Nigeria.  You  can always wait until the monies are permanently deposited in your account, not just pending....

Ship the items shipping  due. That way if the address is bad or if he doesn't pay the shipping the item will come back to you. Get insurance on the item....

Better yet, just skip it and get  experience locally before swimming in the big ocean with the sharks......

NO!!! Dont do this trust me...this is the oldest scam in the book...he will probably ask for you pay pal account info and straight steal from you.  Look on craigslist and there is a how to avaoid scams section.  Thats how they scam people, if it ever has to deal with opening accounts or sending items overseas dont do it.  The number one rule on craigslist is sell locally.  Again it sounds very very fishy....good luck
