  1. it should have been req. with coast guard

you had to have papers. check w/bank if finance.

  2. You should.

You can offer them a Bill of Sale. They can do a Lein Search and Coast Guard before paying you. They can apply for their own documentation.

  3. They mean - the title for the boat, the title for the trailer it sits on, the papers that show the sticker number that the trailer is registered.  Any sort of maintance papers/ winterized/ tune ups... ETC....  Perhaps papers for the ski vests, skis, ropes, stereo system if it has one....

  4. the only  papers you as a boat owner should have is the "pink slip" showing legal ownership. you should have current registration/tags if the boat is stored in a marina, but , that is up to the marina's.

  5. Minimally you should have registration papers and a bill of sale from when you bought the boat.  Otherwise, there is no way to prove that you legally own it.  Also, many people would have insurance papers for their boats.

  6. If you are required to pay yearly taxes on your boat and you've been paying them, there are papers somewhere.  Go to your city/county office and get a copy of your last tax bill.  It should have all pertinent information like VIN number, etc. on it.  If you ever had a title, you can get a copy of that title wherever your boat is registered.
