  1. that depends on your ip and internet type, tech support will be able to tell you, or post more details

    information on supplied routers here

    http://bigpond.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bigp...

    its not particularly helpful

    what I have gleaned is

    PPPoA

    8/35

its more than likely dynamic unless you pay for static

like I said easiest to ring tech support

  2. Normally, you will have dynamic IP as you are using Telstra, except you are specified ask to have static IP, which I remember it costs you extra.

PPPoE, I don't think telstra uses it for normal boardband customers. anyway, if you dont have to type in password and/or login when you connect to internet, then you almost certainly are not using PPPoE.

Surely you can just call your ISP, they can tell you which connection type that you are using.

  3. Your ISP provides your internet feed using whichever protocol he has selected.  He provides this info.

Unless you have a business service, it is very likely you have a dynamic IP address; if you have a static IP address, the ISP will have given you the static IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and 2 DNS server ip addresses.

If you have PPPoE protocol, he would have indicated you need a user name & password at the router level to communicate.

If you are still unsure, consult with the ISP.
