  1. Make it personal and meaningful. Don't pick a random song because people here suggest it and because it's popular for this kind of dance.

Did you guys used to dance to a specific song together when you were young? Or did you really like a song that irritated the heck out of your brother? What about your favorite movie theme song that you guys both liked. The emcee for the night can make an announcement to explain it if it's out there.

For example, if my mom and I were going to dance together, we'd pick "Mrs. Robinson" because she used to play it over and over on car rides when my sister and I were kids, and we were too young to appreciate it, but we grew to love it, as well as her awful rendition of it.

That makes for a fun story, and a unique moment. Don't go the generic route.

  2. You might ask your mother about songs that were popular when you both were little that you liked.

  3. What a Wonderful World is a lovely song for a wedding.  My husband and my daughter danced to it at her wedding and it is lovely and sets a great tone for the happy reception...

  4. I sorta did the same at my wedding but I danced with both my dad and my brother. With my brother, I had "I'll Remember" by Madonna. It's a beautiful song about remembering things that you learned from someone like strength, love and how that will help you now that you're on your own (so to speak)

  5. Wind beneath my wings

    You raise me up

  6. Stand By Me

    Stealing Cinderella

There is a song called, "When I needed You Most" at http://www.weddingmusiccentral.com/index... maybe listen to those lyrics to see if they are right for you.
