  1. Oh God, I hope so. But I know you're not.

What is it that makes you sick?  That it seems like a fad?  That it makes you aware that you pollute?  That being green means taking time to do research and find out what you can do to reduce your ecological footprint, and you have an aversion to thinking?

We share the planet, hon.  I've got a grandkid who deserves better than the likes of you.  So some of us work twice as hard to improve our lifestyles, because we know you don't.

Edit: Hard to do from 6 foot under, Shaggy.  Real mature taking a shot at a dead woman.

  2. I am so angry at those green promoters that i'm going to cut down some trees!!

  3. wowwwwwwwww. give me 1 reason why you think its okay to pollute the world? like you are gaining nothing. all you people care is money money money. and money comes from trees. i dont want the world to end but you people are too caught up in your own lives you dont care even a bit about global warming or anything. i am standing up for waht i belive in and so are you i do respect that but they say people recyle for many years and nothing seems to have happened. you got to put your heart in to it and really make a difference. The world doesnt always have to be about you, you know? why dont you take a break from your oh so hectic life and help the world YOU live in for once. one person can make a difference and i really want to do taht. Like martin luther kind Jr. he made a differnce and people respect them. The only resaon they are doiong this whole go green thing is becuase the envrionment hasnt been as bad as it is today and they are trying to save it becuase people who dont care dont want to take the time to even hear about it. i know i use to be that way but some how i thought of it a certain way. taking a break and helping the envrionment helps everyones lives better and if we had more people like that maybe your sidewalks, beaches, and roads wouldnt be so polluted with trash. how comes you cant take one break from your life to even try and help? i dont know why you are refusing to help or even just listening would be helpful but you too caught up in your life theres no time for the world right now.

  4. I hope so. Do you want to get respiratory diseases from all the pollution?

  5. you are not alone, i do love the planet and i think we shold do our best at keeping it clean, however, this green c**p is just that.  we are being brainwashed in the whole global warming, oh excuse me, it's global climate change now because they've determined it wasn't warming.  what a crock of ****!  if you follow the moneyon this i bet you would find the proponants are getting rich off of these lies.  come on over, we'll light a couple tires up!

  6. No, you're not alone.

Just because I buy a bottle of water with 30% less plastic, that doesn't mean I'll save the whales or whatever.  We're fighting a war and people are more concerned with turning your TV off for a few more minutes a day in order to stop the deterioration of the o-zone layer.

Besides, if there is an alledged hole up there, why is it over Antarctica and not Mexico City or Bejing?  Why don't people realize we're just coming out of an ice age and temperatures will continue to rise until we go into another ice age?  It's the natural way of the Earth!

  7. Wow, how naive can you people possibly be.

gary s: Its referred to as climate change not because warming isn't occurring but because it is not only warming. There will be changes in precipitation and other aspects of the climate besides an increase in temperature.

C.O. D:  You should want to use less plastic is for many reasons but protecting wildlife isn't one of them. Plastic production produces a large amount of greenhouse gasses. Transportation of bottled water also uses fossil fuels.

Also, the ozone layer has almost nothing to do with climate change.

While changes in climate are completely normal the rate of change is unprecedented, not the natural way of the earth.

  8. Changes need to be made, maybe not to the extreme of pro greeners, but changes are necessary. Within just the last few months, more and more companies (and ads) are jumping on the "green" bandwagon and I think it's freaking people out--"overselling" the idea.  I can remember being a kid in the early 70's when people used to just throw their trash out their car windows--cans, whole bags of then fast food refuse. People thought the "don't be a litterbug" or "give a hoot, don't pollute" campaigns were a bunch of crud. Imagine what it would look like now if we hadn't learned and changed? Have you ever looked at the pictures of cities pre--80's before anyone was seriously concerned with air/water pollution or doing anything about it? Yuck.

Even by making simple and now feasible changes we can make an even greater difference and more drastic positive effects. With the rising costs of utilities, it's kind of fun reducing personal dependency on those costs to a bare minimum. The house we purchased a year ago had a $300 a month utility bill, by adjusting our usage and being more energy efficient, we spent less than $50 a month, even during a record-breaking winter. While our efforts were more self-serving than "going green" it makes a difference.
